Time really goes too quickly. The semester is rushing past- only a month and a half until my senior recital, less than two weeks until me and Brian's audition at Roosevelt University in Chicago... I can't wait to actually know what I'm doing with my life after graduation. But I'm still at least three months from knowing.
When I haven't been practicing or frantically doing projects I've actually been making a lot of progress on projects. I've been making tons of hats for people, and trying to get some of my decoration and furniture projects going.
Right now I'm making a hat for Mo, a circle scarf and a panda amigurumi.
I'm going to post pics of all the projects I've finished in the last month tomorrow!

Resolutions?
I've never been good at keeping my resolutions, possibly because I have never written them down so I can be reminded of them. I have a bit of a list:
1. Practice more/ better.
2. Keep in better touch with friends I don't get to see.
3. Stop eating after 10 pm.
4. Get in shape! (focus: arms and abs)
5. Take more pictures.
6. Draw more.
7. Post here at least once a week.
Yay! there they are.

Oh I'm so bad at this.
I have been checking out all of my old blogs lately and here we are another post 4 months after the last one. It seems to be a running theme. Now that I have my Android phone I feel like I will post more, since the interwebs are in the palm of my hand all day every day.
I guess I've been re-reading these blogs and journals as my reflection on the last year. As I've been getting closer and closer to graduation I have felt a need to explore my past. My memory has never been super great, but every blog post brings the past rushing back to me as clear as day. Between the Xanga, Deviant Art, Gaia, and Live Journal, I have relived my high school days. I thought everything was so complicated then, but looking back I am missing the simplicity. *longing sigh* Most of my blogs ended during the dawn of my freshman year of college, some of which I probably will never remember completely because I stopped writing. My focuses changed completely. I even stopped drawing which had been my constant outlet since elementary school. But most painful of the things I let go by the wayside were the many friendships from those years: my girls at Loretto, my online friends from forums and IRC, and my childhood buddies whom I only see during holidays now.
Re-reading the blogs has made me realize what I missed most: my old self. She is not completely gone but the busy haze of my freshman year of college and my attempts to be "grown up" hid her away. I feel like I have less energy, and like I don't enjoy every moment of my life like I did then. Maybe this is "maturing" or getting older. But I don't like it.
So here is my New Year's Resolution for 2011:
I will re-kindle my self, and make the most out of every day. I will put time aside to write, draw, and read like I used to. I will keep in touch with my friends better than I have been these past four years and be a better friend to those I have around me all the time.
I think this will help me be much happier with my life.
So here's to 2011!

Busy busy!
I just started working at GNO cyclery, it's nice to be back in a bike shop, the smell of inner tubes, mysterious bike grease stains all over my arms, legs, and clothes- it makes me happy! I've been there for a week, still not used to standing around all day.
My projects are going well, the trumpet bag is about halfway done with the crochet part. I'm still trying to figure out exactly how to connect the pieces and make/attach a lining and padding as well as how to do the straps.
I made a few amigurumi Pokemon last week! Jigglypuff and Igglypuff sitting on a doily I made earlier that day. It's from Crochet Today March/April 2010. I wish I had a better camera, this was taken with my phone. I will make the patterns available as soon as I edit them.

New name
I wasn't really feeling the name I had before for my blog. "I will not crochet in class" came from high school when my friends and I were always knitting/crocheting/crafting in class and we used to get in trouble with certain teachers from time to time. At Loyola none of my teachers really mind it as long as I'm not distracting anyone and I find that crocheting in class time is a great way to get projects done very quickly. That said, the new name is my nickname from school, which no one at college really calls me, but I miss it dearly. My teachers even called me Crash, and we used to trick freshman into thinking it was my real name. So here it is! New look, new name! and I like it a lot more.
I've been working on a trumpet bag for Brian, yeah a crocheted trumpet case. I've never seen one before, and it's what he wanted for his birthday, which was almost a month ago, but it is going well.
Things got very hectic around the end of school through June, which was why I dropped off the earth, soon I'll post pics of my recent projects and from my trip to Hawaii with my family!

Hell Week!
Wow one week to my Junior recital... and a little more than a week to L'Enfant, then a week later and it's finals. So I'm taking a break from my projects until after the opera. I'm excited for it all but at the same time I can't wait for it to be over.

New look!
Wow thanks to Blogger's new set up with the templates I've managed to make this thing look pretty sweet! I like the color combination a lot.
Today is the last day of Spring Break, and I'm sitting here at the desk, kind of sad that I did not get into any shenanigans over the break... That aside, I slept so much I think I made up for all the sleep I didn't get during the semester. I'm so sad to go back to school though! That week of glorious freedom from responsibility is over. Now to get ready for my junior recital and finals. I wish I could just skip all this and have summer break already!
I've found an apartment that I think will be perfect as long as I can get a washer dryer in there. I'm just waiting to talk to my other roommates, I want to sign the lease and get this place!
Here's my latest creation, I think it'll be the first thing I put in my Etsy shop once I get some better pictures of it. Mostly not a picture of my guy friends b.s.-ing around, flippin' the bird. It's a heart barrette! yay!
